PreNatal and PostNatal massage
Pre Natal and Post Natal massages are provided in our clinic and are of great benefit to expecting mothers as well as during the post-natal period.
Our experienced massage therapist, Fiona Neville, will tailor the treatment to suit your needs and provide a deeply relaxing massage, focusing on any areas of concern, including your shoulders, lower back, hips and feet, all of which become affected during pregnancy and cause additional stress on the body.
Pre-natal massages can help to relax and reduce stress and tension, as well as ease any muscle and joint pain especially in the pelvic region and may promote lymphatic drainage which can assist with swelling of the ankles associated with pregnancy. It may also assist in promoting muscle balance for a healthy labour.
Depending on which trimester you are in, our therapist will either use a custom-made pregnancy pillow which will allow you to lie safely on your stomach, or cushions will be used to support you to lie comfortably in a side position.
Self-care after your pregnancy is very important for your own physical and emotional health and massage is one way you can support your recovery and lower stress to enable a healthy and strong bond to develop after the birth.
