Breaking The Cycle Of Procrastination

Written by our psychologist, Dr Thea Bridgman.

Do you have a never-ending list of to do’s piling up, making you feel overwhelmed?
Do you find you put off starting important tasks?
Do you find it a struggle to reply to messages or RSVP on time?

If this is the case, you may be struggling with procrastination.

Procrastination is incredibly common, however, it's often a bigger problem than we realise. Procrastination can cause feelings of anxiety, depression, low confidence, and prevent us from attempting important goals in life.

Clearing Negative Energy

Written by our Kinesiologist, Jessica Frost.

Negative energy exists - we have all felt the "vibes" walking into a space that just does not feel right. And we've probably all also felt the energy of somewhere really sacred, like an ancient cathedral or a traditional holy place, or the awe inspiring beauty of nature. The energy of the love, devotion and prayer of centuries can leave an impression in a space. In a similar way, negative energy can also accumulate. Old goals, for example, can feel cold and disturbing. Sights of wars can feel awful from the accumulation of terror, rage, pain and other emotions.

Lemony Chicken Soup

Lemony Chicken Soup

This Recipe is an edited version of the original from Mr & Mrs Wilkinsons How it is at Home by Matt Wilkinson and Sharlee Gibb. Published by Hardie Grant 2017. Photography by Patricia Niven.

This is a quick and easy version of chicken soup that we love to have regularly. If we have recently had a roast chicken, we may have chicken stock in the fridge to use but the San Elk range of organic stock powders are our standby. Also, we have bunches of silverbeet in the garden and I often substitute this for the bok choy.

Lemony Chicken Soup

Serves 4

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1 leek, remove dark green leaves, halved lengthways and sliced

500g free range chicken thighs

500ml chicken or vegetable stock

750ml water

2 pieces kombu, optional

½ cup soup pasta, like risoni or macaroni (I use a gluten free pasta)

1 lemon, zest and juice

1 bunch bok choy or similar, roughly chopped

Reclaiming Your Energy and Capacity to Thrive

Written by our Reiki Practitioner, Jan Hecksher.

I’ve always believed that we are more than our physical bodies. This belief and subsequent understanding led me to explore the possibilities that Reiki offered, and I qualified as a Reiki practitioner over 25 years ago. My major activity has been in the corporate world as a trainer, facilitator, and executive coach but my interest in wellbeing has always been strong.

I have run my own consultancy for over twenty years doing work I still love. Just before Covid changed our way of life, I began working from Fairfield Wellness one day a week in addition to my corporate activities. This was the ideal opportunity for me to conduct my energy balancing sessions in a confidential, safe and tranquil environment.

My energy balancing sessions include Reiki which is a technique to guide the flow of healthy energy throughout the body and known to support an individual’s sense of mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.

Research shows that personal wellbeing is a major contributor to improving workplace relationships, business success and enhanced life satisfaction. I find when clients have a profound opportunity to connect with themselves during an energy balancing session, they can experience benefits which include:

  • Deep relaxation
  • Clarity of thinking and greater insight
  • Increased self-awareness and personal empowerment
  • Increased energy
  • Restored sense of balance
  • Awareness of new possibilities and potential for positive change.

I have now conducted hundreds of these sessions over the last few years and consider it a great privilege to work with people in this way.

For the month of November, I am offering a special rate of a 75-minute introductory energy balancing session for the price of a one-hour session which is $120. Bookings are limited. Please contact me directly to make a booking on 0419 513 210.

What clients say:

Jan inspires trust and confidence’
‘A sense of calm, relaxation and empowerment’
‘So rejuvenating, amazing work’
‘I could fully relax and feel safe’
‘Jan is tuned in, authentic, supportive and extremely caring and kind’.
